Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and Beyond

What a crazy, fun holiday season.  Most exciting was our baby started sitting independently.  At only 5 months old he surprised us all.  We were playing with a toy and I realized he was sitting alone.  He's definately growing up quickly.

We also enjoyed a wonderful performance by Ella, Patrick and Isabella in our annual church Christmas pagent.  This year they performed "The Best Christmas Present Ever".  Patrick played Connor, Ella was a dancer and Isabella was in the chorus.  They did an awesome job.

Peter Eyob also had a special performance as Joseph in his PreK show while Isabella was an angel  in her kindergarten program.  They look so sweet in the costumes and their little voices were so precious.  A good reminder of the real meaning of Christmas.  We are so blessed that our children are able to go to Christian school where they are able to celebrate this holiday with Christ as the center.

On Christmas Eve, we had a picnic dinner and watched "Its a Wonderful Life".  We went to church on the 23rd and the kids sang in the childrens choir, so we had a relaxing Christmas Eve and kids enjoyed eating in the living room

Christmas Day was crazy as usual.  We opened presents at home then we went to Grandma's house for presents, Great Grandma Porterfield was also there.  After that we went to Great Grandma Eicher's for dinner and more presents.  We then went home to rest for our a long trip in morning.

The day after Christmas  we left for New York to visit Daddy's family.  We had fun meeting our new baby cousin, Leah and playing with the Mardirossian cousins.  We also visited New York City where the girls enjoyed the American Girl store and we all enjoyed seeing the tree at Rockefeller Center and the huge Toys R us.  Peyton also got to meet Great Grandma Enid for the first time.  It was a great trip despite the 12hour  drive home with a closed highway and major detour.

We celebrated New Years with the Holmes(our neighbors) as usual.  Their little one was born on New Years Eve three years ago.  He was 14 weeks early.   He is now a healthy toddler and Ilana's best bud and it is always fun to celebrate with them on New Years.
